These natural essential oil blends are your go-to for dock days, bonfires, backyard hangouts, hikes, cottage weekends, and everything in between. Because let’s be honest—the bugs in Muskoka don’t quit.
THE SPRAY (Two Versions!)
Our Outdoor Spray is skin-safe and works wonders on clothing, hats, gear, strollers, and even your dog (just choose the dog-friendly version!).

Signature Scent (for humans): citronella, eucalyptus, geranium, cedarwood, peppermint, and lavender.

Dog-Friendly Scent: Safe for pups and people —cedarwood, patchouli, sweet orange, grapefruit, and sage. You can spray it directly on your dog or onto your hands and rub it into their fur—especially around the belly and snout.
Shake well before use! Natural oils need a good mix to work their magic.

How to Use
The spray is super versatile. You can of course spray your skin and clothing, wherever you don’t want the bugs.
The roller is more targeted and ideal for your hairline, ankles, wrist and near shirt cuffs.
OTHER USES
Use the spray around your screen doors so the bugs aren’t coming in when you do. Spray around the stroller or baby carrier for little ones. Spray on the back of canvas chairs when they are trying to bite through the fabric. Spray hats and jackets, dog harnesses and even helmets.

The outdoor spray (signature scent) was one of the first products I ever tried making at home! It’s worked for us for YEARS and was the only thing I actually sold to friends and family BEFORE The Detour Co was born. This spray goes way back and I’m so happy it’s supporting you and your family as much as it has ours.
The dog-friendly version was born the first year of this business, from folks like you who simply asked “is this dog safe?”. I honestly didn’t know at first and then dove into some essential oil research and found a new scent formulation that could keep our furry friends a little safer!
